This policy covers the Musical Trip Planner website (musicaltripplanner.com) and the Musical Trip Planner app for Android, which shows the same website. It is run by Yuval Beck and Liesl, two private individuals. Questions or requests: info@musicaltripplanner.com.
The short version
- There are no accounts, no sign-up and no advertising.
- Your trip plan stays on your own device unless you choose to share it.
- We never see, store or sell your name, email address (unless you write to us), location, contacts or payment details.
- Ticket purchases happen on the ticket seller's own website, under their privacy policy.
What stays on your device
The planner saves your city, trip dates, chosen shows, excluded shows and "booked" marks in your browser's local storage (inside the app, in the app's own storage). If you add a ticket confirmation, the PDF is read on your device only: it is never uploaded. Only the booking reference, the seat you approve and the file name are saved, again on your device. You can remove your selections at any time with Clear all selections in the planner, and everything by clearing this site's data in your browser or by uninstalling the app.
So that the planner keeps working on a poor connection, the app also keeps a copy of a few site files (the offline page, icons and the export libraries) on your device. These contain no personal data.
What we store on our server
Shared plans. When you press Share plan, a copy of the itinerary (city, dates, chosen shows, times and theatres) is stored so that the link works. Booking references, seats and ticket PDFs are never included. Next to it we store a salted, one-way hash of your IP address, used only to limit how many plans can be created per hour; the IP address itself is not stored. Anyone with the link can open the plan. Shared-plan pages are hidden from search engines. Email us with the link if you want a plan deleted.
Anonymous usage counter. To learn which features are used, the site sends a short note when you take certain actions: dates chosen, plan finished, export, share, ticket button clicked, booking marked, shared plan opened. Each note holds the action, the page path, the city and, for some actions, the show or ticket seller. It also holds a salted hash of your IP address and the day, which changes every day and cannot be turned back into your IP address. It is used only to count distinct visitors per day and to stop abuse. No cookies, no device identifiers, no IP addresses.
Feedback. If you use the contact form, we store your message, the topic, the page you came from and, only if you give it, your email address, so we can reply. Messages are forwarded to our mailbox by our email provider (Resend). Ask us and we will delete them.
Our database is hosted by Neon (Neon Postgres) and the website by Vercel, both in the United States.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It does not use cookies and does not track you across websites; it records the page, the referring website, and your country, device type, operating system and browser, and identifies visits only through a short-lived anonymous hash. See Vercel's analytics privacy policy.
Ticket links and affiliate programmes
We don't sell tickets. The ticket buttons open the websites of independent sellers, such as SeatPlan and Ticketmaster. Some of these links are affiliate links run through Impact (impact.com): if you buy tickets after clicking, the seller may pay us a small commission at no extra cost to you. To make that work, the link passes through Impact's tracking domain, and Impact and the seller may set cookies and record the click and any purchase under their own privacy policies. The link tells them which of our pages the click came from (for example "show page" or "planner") and the show, never anything about you. Commissions never change which shows the planner suggests.
Other services your browser contacts
- When you export a PDF or Excel file, or read a ticket PDF, your browser downloads the open-source libraries for that (jsPDF, PDF.js and similar) from cdnjs.cloudflare.com and cdn.jsdelivr.net. These services see your IP address as part of the download.
- Show times are fetched by our server from public listings and from the Ticketmaster Discovery API. Your device does not contact those services for this, and nothing about you is sent to them.
- "Map" links open Google Maps, and "Add to calendar" gives you a file for your own calendar app.
What we don't do
We don't sell or rent personal data, don't use advertising networks or ad identifiers, don't build profiles, and don't use your location, contacts, camera, microphone or files (apart from a ticket PDF you choose to open, which never leaves your device).
Children
The planner is a general-audience travel tool and is not directed at children. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the UK or EU GDPR, Israeli privacy law or US state laws), you may have the right to ask what we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to its use. Because we hold almost nothing that identifies you, the simplest way is to email info@musicaltripplanner.com with the shared-plan link or the date and wording of your message, and we will act on it within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
How long we keep data
Shared plans and feedback are kept until you ask us to delete them, or until we remove old entries. Usage-counter entries hold no personal data and are kept as statistics.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be mentioned on the About page.
